Maine’s Best Smallmouth Bass Fishing
Our Maine smallmouth bass season begins late April as we fish for pre-spawn smallies on the warming shorelines. The pre-spawn is followed by the explosive top water season of the spawn in May and June. 50-100 fish days are common while fishing top water lures or popping bugs for Maine’s hard-fighting Smallmouth Bass.
July, August and September provide high quality fishing, either with live bait, flies or artificial lures that will excite novice to experienced anglers. Our largest smallmouth usually come to the canoe during this time of year with numerous four to five-pound smallmouth bass caught each season.
Maine Fly Fishing for Native Landlocked Salmon and Brook Trout
Fly Fishing Only since 1903, Grand Lake Stream has lured anglers from around the globe for nearly 2 centuries. Our spring salmon run begins in earnest early May with salmon feeding on nymphs and smelt followed by dry fly fishing beginning in late May with May flies and caddis into June. The salmon move into the cold lakes during the summer and return to spawn in late September and October, fat and healthy. Consider joining us to cast a fly into the fabled waters of Grand Lake Stream this season.
